I'm happy using the device. Happier than I was with Sync, Alpine, or Garmin. I think about myself an 'Average' navigation user (not a newbie, not an expert) and can update the review following utilizing it more.
Sidenote: I ordered through Amazon, utilizing "Beach Camera" seller. It was delivered One (one) business day following I ordered it! I used 'Standard' shipping, and FedEx (House service) had it delivered fast. Extremely happy with Beach Camera's shipping email messages and speed!
I thought I'd offer an update following 6 months of utilizing this TomTom device:
one) I am nonetheless very happy! It's the 1st GPS I've used that "just works" and I'm glad I do not need to mess with it.
2) I've mastered the technique of adjusting the screen position while simultaneously holding the suction foundation. Back again in May when i initial reviewed it, I was concerned about how 'easily' it popped off. Now, it is nonetheless annoying, but I've minimized the amount of occasions it occurs by holding it appropriately. It doesn't annoy me enough to buy a different stand/holder.
three) The suction cup nonetheless holds on quite nicely. It hasn't fallen off but. (I attach/detach in the windshield every time I exploit it.)
4) Visitors Receiver: I have been satisfied with alternate directions/road closings. It is quite correct, even in rural locations exactly where I did not expect street closures to become displayed.
5) Long-distance journey: I've used it for a few lengthy journeys (1000+ miles) and had no issues in any way with it. I found the 'estimate' of time to become very correct. It was no more than 10 minutes off. (I calculated time I stopped for gas and additional it to the authentic estimate.)
6) Battery life: I've found the battery life to become holding a bit much less cost than it used to, but nothing that I really feel is alarming. Most of time, I have the power cord connected anyway (so I can get the visitors updates using the antenna constructed into the cord.)
Overall, this is my preferred GPS. I have been hooking it up to the computer much less and much less (meaning I am forfeiting new 'map share' punition). I even decided NOT to get the latest map update. Why? Nicely, I really feel every thing is operating just fine the way it is. I may update if I have the free time. This really is in sharp distinction to my previous GPS experience, exactly where I'd pray for updates to repair stubborn issues. The TomTom is just fine and I have had no major grievances. I am NOT in the market to buy a new GPS simply because I'm lastly satisfied.
